SUMMARY:Live Art - Montgomery's Island
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to come and watch some of PEI’s wonderful artists at this plein air event. This the last in a series of five\, each with its own particular location and theme. To celebrate Montgomery’s 150th birthday\, each event offers some of her words to inspire the artists. The theme for this event is people . Artists have two hours to finish their artwork and you get to choose which one you like best. You can also purchase some beautiful art for your home or cottage. Treats and background music are on offer for artists and spectators. \nToday’s inspiration: \nMarilla\, walking home one late April evening …realized that the winter was over and gone with the thrill of delight that spring never fails to bring to the oldest and saddest as well as to the youngest and merriest…The spring was abroad in the land and Marilla’s sober\, middle-aged step was lighter and swifter because of its deep\, primal gladness. \nAnne of Green Gables\, L. M. Montgomery \nThere was something in her movements that made you think she never walked but always danced. \nRilla of Ingleside\, L. M. Montgomery\, \nI’m so thankful for friendship. It beautifies life so much. \nAnne of Avonlea\, L. M. Montgomery\, \nKindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It’s splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world. \nAnne of Green Gables\, L. M. Montgomery

SUMMARY:Live Art - Montgomery's Island
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to come and watch some of PEI’s wonderful artists at this plein air event. This the fourth in a series of five\, each with its own particular location and theme. To celebrate Montgomery’s 150th birthday\, each event offers some of her words to inspire the artists. The theme for this event is domestic life\, life on the farm\, nature . Artists have two hours to finish their artwork and you get to choose which one you like best. You can also purchase some beautiful art for your home or cottage. Treats and background music are on offer for artists and spectators. \nToday’s inspiration: \nIt’s such a beautiful day and such a beautiful world that I must “bubble over” to someone and you\, old journal\, are the only one I dare bubble over to. Oh\, the world is so lovely now. It is the very prime of glorious springtide. The apple orchards are a pinky blush\, the cherry trees are wreaths of perfumed snow; and in the mornings the fresh moist air is dizzily sweet with their delicious odors and resinous breaths of fir. The fields are like breadths of green velvet and birches and maples swing heavy curtains of green leaves. Oh\, it’s a dear beautiful world! \nThe Selected Journals of L. M. SUMMARY:Live Art - Montgomery's Island
DESCRIPTION:This event is now cancelled due to the weather. \nYou are invited to come and watch some of PEI’s wonderful artists at this plein air event. This the third in a series of five\, each with its own particular location and theme. To celebrate Montgomery’s 150th birthday\, each event offers some of her words to inspire the artists. The theme for this event is landscapes and nature. Artists have two hours to finish their artwork and you get to choose which one you like best. You can also purchase some beautiful art for your home or cottage. Treats and background music are on offer for artists and spectators. \nToday’s inspiration: \nThere is great solitude about such a shore.  The woods are never solitary – they are full of whispering\, beckoning\, friendly life.  But the sea is a mighty soul\, forever moaning of some great\, unshareable sorrow\, which shuts it up into itself for all eternity. … The woods call to us in a hundred voices\, but the sea has one only – a mighty voice that drowns our souls in its majestic music.  The woods are human\, but the sea is of the company of angels. \nThe Complete Journals of L. M. Montgomery\, The PEI Years 1901-1911 (October 9\,1907) \nLook at that sea\, girls–all silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldn’t enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds. \nL. M. Montgomery\, Anne of Green Gables

It is the greatest pleasure my days bring to me to go out to my garden every morning and see what new blossoms have opened overnight. \n\nM. I am grateful that my childhood was spent in a spot where there are many trees\, trees of personality\, planted and tended by hands long dead\, bound up with everything of joy or sorrow that visited our lives.
