SUMMARY:Live Art - Montgomery's Island
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to come and watch some of PEI’s wonderful artists at this plein air event. This the second in a series of five\, each with its own particular location and theme. To celebrate Montgomery’s 150th birthday\, each event offers some of her words to inspire the artists. The theme for this event is landscapes and nature. Artists have two hours to finish their artwork and you get to choose which one you like best. You can also purchase some beautiful art for your home or cottage. Treats and background music are on offer for artists and spectators. \nToday’s inspiration: \nMy garden… the delight it has been to me… I am positively revelling in flowers – dozens of the most lovely blossoms. It is the greatest pleasure my days bring to me to go out to my garden every morning and see what new blossoms have opened overnight. \n\nM. Montgomery\, July 30\,1905\, The Complete Journals The P.E.I. Years 1901-1911\n\nHow we did love trees! I am grateful that my childhood was spent in a spot where there are many trees\, trees of personality\, planted and tended by hands long dead\, bound up with everything of joy or sorrow that visited our lives. When I have “lived with” a tree for many years it seems to me like a beloved human companion. \nThe Alpine Path. Everywoman’s World\, July 1917
